I anticipate having to argue with my buddies about Norman. Norman, to me clearly didn't choke...and doesn't deserve the label. Only one year at the masters when he blew the 7 shot lead to Faldo, did it even come close. I think the Masters is an event of the highest caliber. It was a good story between Norman recovering from shoulder surgery, and Jose Maria coming back from the foot and back problems he has had.

I didn't catch the subtlety of your Norman comment at first and then thought about. Very good analogy. '96 was the basket case fold job against Faldo...this year he lost with honor, but only by a little.

got you finally...

ok so I'm slow.. <g>

bill,
one has to be inhumane not to empathize Greg Norman in '96.....although my friends say that it's hard to feel sorry for someone who owns a plane,,,,but you and I know money isn't everything (but it ain't far off, -g-).........I wished Norman would have won, but Olazabal certainly was the real man in the tournament....and he, too, had a compelling history with his medical problems.......oh, well,...the world goes on....the Majors in golf are the best of human drama in sports.....there's enough time for each triumph and failure to be played out......one sees the best of Greek tragedy as well as heroics. gotta love it.
