Nihil, a good friend of mine just bought a Compaq AMD 350 mhz laptop. Decent price at 1999. I spent three hours last night trying to figure out how to get the damn modem to work! Finally the tech reps agreed that the thing was broken and needed to be brought to a Compaq authorized repair shop. If that laptop is indicative of Compaq quality control practices. No wonder Dell is kicking their butt. Michael

nihil - I see my favorite SI memeber has taken his schtick over to the CSCO thread. Message 8847731 Isn't this wonderful? It appears Fleckenstein is too much of a chicken sh** to go and post on the boards outside the coffeeshop, so he sends his minions. Aren't we fortunate? I do see Fleckster has been hitting the CPQ board HARD since Friday. I've been lurking this board for about six months and never seen him post here. Does anyone know if he ever comes over here to post? YUCK if he does. PB
