CALABASAS, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 12, 1999--THQ Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:THQI - news) is gathering America's most beloved babies to bring the ''The Rugrats Movie'' for Game Boy Color to families everywhere.

The title, based on Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon's blockbuster $100-million-grossing movie hit, ships Monday and will be available at major retail outlets nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Featured in brilliant color, ''The Rugrats Movie'' will enable kids of all ages to navigate lovable characters such as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil and Baby Dil as they ride the Reptar Wagon to embark on a series of adventures. ''The Rugrats Movie'' has 11 action-packed levels plus bonus levels exclusive to the Game Boy Color.

The title, which is also compatible with the Nintendo Game Boy and Super Game Boy systems, combines two game play styles into one -- traditional platform and racing. Other features include a scoreboard to rank players among other Rugrats characters and passwords to save progress.

''THQ is pleased to present a quality-driven game that transcends age and provides fun for everyone in the family,'' commented Joseph Adney, vice president of marketing. ''Teaming up with a leader of children's entertainment like Nickelodeon allows THQ to take America's most-cherished characters and incorporate them into a product that lets individuals relive 'The Rugrats Movie' magic again and again.''

''We've had tremendous success with our initial Rugrats games with our THQ partnership,'' said Steve Youngwood, director, software, publishing and new businesses, Nickelodeon Consumer Products. ''In working closely with the creators of the show, THQ and Nickelodeon are thrilled to extend and deliver another true Rugrats experience with this Game Boy Color game.''

About ''Rugrats''

''Rugrats,'' the highest-rated kids television program in the United States, is Nickelodeon's animated series about life from a baby's point of view. The Rugrats are Tommy, the one-year-old hero; his best friend Chuckie; the twins from next door, Phil and Lil; and Tommy's bratty cousin Angelica.

Whenever adults are around, the Rugrats act like real babies, but when they're alone, they talk to each other with the vocabulary of five-year-olds. As Tommy and his pals wobble through life, supported by legs not yet used to walking, they show the world as a baby views and understands it.

The Rugrats' world is one that exists below our knees; where mundane things turn into grand, comic adventures. ''Rugrats'' has won numerous awards including the Emmy, CableAce and Parents Choice Awards.

''Rugrats'' was created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo and Paul Germain.

THQ Inc. develops, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software worldwide for a variety of hardware platforms including PC CD-ROM, and those manufactured by Nintendo and Sony. The THQ Web site is located at www.thq.com.
