On AWRE-this is my first post to the group (though i've been in lurk mode for several weeks)-really love the Q's prospects and I've been accumulating it on the recent dips. I wanted to pass on some of my knowledge regarding the xDSL sector-I've been following westell, aware, orkit, alcatel, and amati (before it was swallowed up by TXN) for several years now-none of these stocks seem to fit the investment strategy of this thread (alcatel could have been a candidate but missed the IP boat completely and is now playing catch-up)-awre has had a fabulous run the past few months, though there is quite a bit of confusion regarding their intellectual property (and possibly patent infringment on Texas Instruments),the g.lite technology is far from the de facto standard-it allows 1.5megs over copper with minimal installation worries for the provider, however its a cost/benefit issue considering adsl allows 8megs in its 'heavy" form and might just as easily be installed. glite is also a stop-gap solution in adsl, which is of course a stop-gap for fiber- there is also confusion with the BA announcement b/c nothing was mentioned regarding whether they're planning a g.lite strategy or not-nortel will supply equipment regardless of the route BA takes-in summary awre is extremely overvalued given the present uncertainty in the xdsl landscape, though this could change tomorrow. qcom on the other hand appears undervalued, even after its marathon the last few months-keep an eye on awre, but i would caution an investment at these prices-fwiw jeremic
