One thing we know is that DELL slipped on sales last quarter since CPQ has missed earnings one would expect that DELL sales should of been better last quarter not worst. What is wrong with this picture?

What's wrong is that you don't know what you are talking about. Dell's sales increased last quarter. The 'slip' was a decrease from original forecsts, but earning were right in line with expectations. The other part of what is wrong is that youdo not seem to understand that Compaq's problems are largely internal. You cannot explain a 50% decrease in earnings with a 3% decrease in sales. Nor can you explain the softness in commercial accounts with e-machines. The explanation is Dell taking market share, and CPQ being caught with too much inventory in its channels coupled with a product transition.
