Talk about a mini paradigm shift if that happens... that'll be revolutionary!!! I'm sure they're all looking on how to remove noise from a high voltage wire... <g>

I found that article very interesting. I receive a utility investment newsletter and he was talking about the very same thing this last month. He mentioned a company I believe called Scottish Power that is traded here, as getting involved in internet access in Europe. Internet access in Europe has a long way to go. My neighbors are from England and they told me that the public schools don't really have internet access like we have here, apparently local phone calls aren't free. PM Tony Blair is supposedly promising to get this changed. Some of these utility companies may indeed be promising investment candidates.

Info on Scottish Power (SPI)

Scottish Power plc

Power, water, the Internet, and radios are all in the purview of Scottish Power, ye ken. The company's power stations generate electricity, which it wholesales, with gas, to utilities. Scottish Power, which transmits and distributes electricity to about 1.8 million customers in Scotland, also owns Manweb, a regional electricity company serving 1.3 million customers in England and Wales. It also runs a UK network of consumer electronics retail stores. Following deregulation, the company billed itself as a multi-utility: It offers water and wastewater services through Southern Water, and its Scottish Telecom unit is the UK's #1 Internet provider. In 1998 Scottish Power agreed to acquire US utility PacifiCorp.
