For whatever it is worth to everyone on this discussion, I have traded on Datek several times where my limit order was filled after hours, I've seen this happen for about six months now. The reason for this, I suppose, is because of the Island ECN that they control --I do not have any special account set up to do this.
The strange thing about this to me is that the prices I have received have always been farther away from the market prices than anticipated during the day. For example, my order to sell 100 shares of DPH at 18 1/2 went through early one morning after trading below 18 all that week, and remaining below that price for many days afterwards. Many other similar experiences have taken place with Datek.
I wonder, does this happen regularly, or is my experience with doing this quite rare?
