Yes, of course that's what I meant Stefan, wow, you sure got me. You might to do well to engage your brain before putting your mouth (or in this case your fingers) in gear next time. Other PC makers are striving for efficiencies, it's just that Dell is many steps ahead and not slowing down in this regard. Why do you think IBM and CPQ are trying so desperately to copy Dell's Direct model. Do you suppose it's because they think it's not more efficient than their model? Keep repeating this to yourself "EXECUTION" "EXECUTION" "EXECUTION" and perhaps sooner or later you will begin to understand Dell's advantage. Perhaps you will begin to figure out why IBM lost 1B last year trying to sell their inefficiently produced and delivered machine and why CPQ is looking so sick.
As to leverage, you seem to believe that e-machines can make money selling way below the big boys, but you seem not to allow for that possibility with component makers. Don't you believe that components are commodities too? Try posting something after thinking about it awhile, your self-contradictions are transparent. Aloha.
