You can't be serious about a war or plague to control world populations. How about if you were one of the victims, huh?? Or maybe your family? Would you be so insensitive then?

About as sensitive as your concept that you can have the right to dictate how many children a family can consist of. If you have the right to limit the size of families, then I guess I have the right to eliminate them altogether in order to make room for mine.

This is of course a gross overstatement of the problem.

How do you figure? What is your limit of unrealistic economic growth? Didn't Thomas Malthus postulate that same well-worn theory back in the 1800's when global GDP was a mere fraction of today's?

As for who decides who chooses whose nation is eliminated, I guess that all depends on who is the last one left "standing" at the end of the battle.

If people choose to limit the size of their families, that's their choice. If you try to coerce or legally limit them to two children, you are limiting personal rights and you might as well dictate whatever else they can and can't do. What if both of their children are girls? No one to carry on the family name?

listen, I don't have a problem with people having few to no kids at all, nor do I with folks who have a half dozen or so. Heck, my Grandma had 14 kids herself. But society cannot deal with large families without dealing with the economic and cultural reasons for their creation in the first place. And unfortunately the economic picture is not good on a global scale and the end result of that is generally a nasty World War.

Btw, how do you plan on instituting tax incentives/disincentives to deal with these issues? Tax people more for that 3rd kid? Maybe we'll see what China has seen. Y'know... where their female children meet with an unusually high mortality rate at birth, because boys can take care of their parents better in old age and can carry on the family name.

Get people working in jobs where they don't require large families (non-farm manufacturing.. etc) and you'll solve much of the problem.

Btw, you avoided answering why Caucasian demographics have been declining while those of other ethnicities are rising in proportion??
(and this should not be construed by anyone reading this as some form of racist or white supremist comment on my part. It is merely a fact.) Why have Caucasians seen smaller sized families? Can this phoenomena be transferred?

Ron
