<<For most people, jumping in the market at this level is guaranteed to lose money.>>

Don: You are entitled to your opinion -- and that's all it is. What is your track record when it comes to predicting what will happen to the market?? Do you have any of your funds in equities??.. Hello, this is the late 90's...there are quality stocks to invest in. This new information age is transforming our economy -- and the internet is creating great opportunities for smart investors, entrepreneurs and customers.

I am an individual investor and I am not telling people what to buy. At times I give friends and relatives some suggestions -- they make the final decisions.

The casino opens in under 12 hours......and DELL will not be on sale much longer.

Regards,

Scott

don tang..re: don't drag youngsters...

so you think dell at 40 is highly speculative to anyone and we who own it are wrong in recommending it to a youngster....if the perversity of the market drops the price to the mid 30's, this youngster will go long another 10k shares...guess i'm just a silly speculator who has accrued a seven figure portfolio by buying and holding overpriced, highly speculative stocks like dell emc intc msft

guess we need another world war to pull us out of this depression as you posted in january...you are a sick mind to wish a world war for any reason....so much for your concern of "dragging" youngsters into peril

Don

Stockman has been on this thread for a long time making useful contributions. If you don't have anything nice to say, then keep your mouth shut. Why don't you lurk on this thread and read some of the members' posts before making wrong accusations.

So happy to see you are the guardian of new investors interests, why don't you get a life instead?

re:"However, don't drag other youngsters into this"

Sorry, just had to respond. I am what you'd call a young investor (just into grad school), and it is quite obvious to me that the younger you are, the more speculative you should be!

I am currently 180% invested and am ready to retire. I wish I had been dragged into this "so called investment ... scheme" sooner!

By demonizing the market as a speculative crapshoot, you do an enormous disservice to all investors, young and old, who are considering investments in the stock market.

I have started an investment club at my school in order to help less affluent students invest on a regular basis. Our members have reaped an 80% gain since November '98. I spend my time doing this to help and educate others. I don't know what your motives are, but if anyone took your posts seriously, I would be very saddened by the terrible consequences that are bound to follow.

Please consider what real effects your posts may have. SI is not just fun 'n games. What you write really can affect some readers. Please be more responsible in the future.
