No, I don't understand how Clinton's supporters cannot feel compelled to demand an explanation from Clinton.

They probably feel too ashamed, or are too afraid of the answer.

We all know what would happen if something similar had happened to Bush. The media would be demanding an explanation (rightfully so), with you and your fellow Democrats in first line.
