Scumbria, >>>.''I think it is clear that the PC market ... has not been as strong as originally expected,'' Pfeiffer said of the first quarter ended in March..... <<<

Eckhard Pfeiffer said exactly the same thing last year this time. Either Pfeiffer is extraordinarily dense or the man beleives hmself to be so smart that he thinks he can deceive the whole financial community. It is quite clear that by the size of the loss and the lateness of the warning that Pfeiffer is a deceptive type of business person even by the standards set by your maximum leader, Jerry Sanders.

He obviously has motive to blame the PC market rather than his own over-reaching, chaotic, ego driven, and deceptive management style to blame for Compaqs failure.

The upsetting factor is that people of his ilk (Pfeiffer) will to a certain extent damage and crash good companies (Compaq included) and good people and somehow end up with personal benefits.

Intel has just been downgraded by Robertson Stephenson as a result.
