I built what looks like a stream bed. but I wouldn't call it very formal. Kinda random, actually. Tonight it is a stream bed 'cuz it's raining pretty hard here, winter finally arrived last week. The neighbor kids think it's way-cooler than a concrete patio slab, and I have to agree. The plants seem to like it, too, and they encroach upon it whenever they get the chance.

I'll have to take some photos of The Secret Garden.

Being trapped on the freeway in LA is a prelude to hell, there is no doubt. I know many alternate routes, but even better I try to avoid the monster.

I don't know about your bamboos, but the ones we have here do not root that easily. Only way for most of them is to cut out new shoots in the early part of rainy season, plant, and hope for the best. Some usually make it. They grow like mad things in the rainy season, which I guess for you is most of the year.
