DELL is not competing with E-machines.
It is not likely to compete with E-machines anytime soon.

Shipping is one industry that hasn't had its margins reduced by the internet - yet. Shipping costs will be coming down pretty dramatically in the next few years.

Right now the shippers negotiate with vendors for their entire business, and once they get it there is no pricing pressure on individual items. The internet renders this model obsolete.

I would advise people not to include shipping costs in their evaluation of who is going to make money in internet-based sales... soon shippers will be subject to the same pricing pressure as everybody else.
