Xoom.com Says It's in Takeover Talks After Share Sale, FT Says

Bloomberg News

San Francisco, April 12 (Bloomberg) -- Xoom.com Inc., an
online direct marketing company that offers free Internet
services such as electronic mail and home pages, is in talks that
may lead to it being taken over, the Financial Times reported,
citing filings made by the company with regulatory authorities.
The filings, made for a share offering last week, said the
company was in talks with ''one party'' that could lead to a
change of control, but didn't name the party. Xoom.com, which
first sold shares in December, is one of a group of second-
generation Internet sites focusing on electronic commerce, the FT
said.

Xoom.com, which sold shares worth $264 million in its offer
last week, or more than the $56 million it raised at its IPO in
December, said last month it would be open to being acquired if
the potential purchaser offered a large enough premium.
