From the Motley Fool AOL board....the latest estimates from Zacks.

Subject: Zack's Estimates
Date: 4/11/99 6:51 PM Central Daylight Time
From: DickM71179

From DickM,

I haven't heard any "whisper numbers," but never pay too much
attention to them anyway, although the silence this Q on IOM is almost
eerie. The only value 'whisper numbers' have in any case is to drive
up (or down) the stock price before the official number are out.
Great for speculators. A matter of indifference for investors.

Nevertheless, I will share Zack's estimates for the next two quarters
and also the next two fiscal years, only because so many posts have
asked about estimates.

1st Q 2nd Q 1999 total 2000 total

1999 0.00 0.07 0.29 0.37

1998 -0.07 -0.13 -0.15

These estimates are the median of three analyst's including SSB and
Emerald. Emerald has just dropped their rating on IOM from "Buy" to
"Hold" and the other two have "Strong Buy" recommendations, so the
average of these three is solidly optimistic.

I have zero hard data and even less "inside" information except what I
see in the computer and discount stores, plus what I read here and
elsewhere, and what I know from owning a couple of Zips. I'll stick
by my previously estimated +0.03 for the quarter, and I agree with the
estimates for the year of about +0.30.

Reasons: Zip 100 remains stronger than I would have guessed. Zip 250
appears to be getting off to a good start, now that production is
catching up. CDR-W is not replacing Jaz as fast as I thought might be
the case replacement, and Clik! can only be a plus, if IOM makes the
right alliances and gets some marketing.

Net, I'm cautiously optimistic, but don't buy IOM for your
grandmother! (Buy her a Zip instead!)

DickM

Comment: All bets are placed and Thursday after the bell is
showtime! May the best prognosticator win....whoever it is.

were $569 thousand vs. his estimate of $1 million, while both Rocky
and I estimated exactly zero net earnings for the quarter.
