Bill,

I just had the strangest thing happen. I was doing some net testing and I started training one net using only 6 neurons. I was using a 3 month verify period and it turned out acceptable looking. I then trained the exact same settings at 60 neurons and the verify period was a complete disaster. I am going to test some other stocks over the weekend to see if I get the same results. If you have time, see if you can confirm these findings using your settings and related inputs. I was using normal strategy and gain/loss. I let the program finish one complete cycle of back prop and all four training passes of annealing and return to back prop before comparing the results.

I don't know if anyone else is still following this thread, but if you are, please run a few tests and post your results. Compare nets trained with less than 10 neurons to the identical net trained with 40 or more. Don't forget to use a verify period and please use version 2.32 or 2.30 I am only interested in the differences in accuracy that you find in the verify period.
