I don't know about Prey but Duke really doesn't need an E3 presence to sell. Can't argue with the article. What since Unreal has GT shipped that has been anything near mid-quality? I noticed that 'Nam is already in the bargain bin at E3. Blow Bambi's Brains Out still has a plethora of expansions out and they all sell with a margin so low it hardly adds to the bottom line I suspect. Nevertheless, any hot selling trademark is susceptible to marketing myopia, the idea that you can keep selling the same thing and only enhance the technology is a sure loser in the long run.

>>> Here is an interesting little article....and some news that DNF will not be demoed at E3. I wonder if Scott has any comment on this:

It's true, we're not going to show our games at E3, including Max Payne (a Gathering of Developers game).

The reason is simple: These games are not close to release yet, and therefore E3 will be a huge distraction if we were to make a demo (which takes away from real development work) and send key personnel there to demo the games.

E3 can easily set back development a full month, and we do not think that's worth it--we'd rather get the game out a month sooner.

Plus, a game like Duke has all the hype it needs. There's no need to over hype a game this well anticipated.
