Sheila:

Our resident basher(s) always overlooks the strength of current market position with consumers and OEMs that IOM products enjoy. When announcing the next Zip or Jaz killer there is no consideration given to the magnitude of the task associated with establishing the heir apparent, in this case ORB, in the the buyer's mind.

If there is one thing that KE can be thanked for, it is that he established IOM as THE BRAND for removable storage and so far no challenger has been able to change that....EVEN WHEN THEY SELL AT A LOSS!

This battle will not be "won" on the basis of technology alone, brand recognition will play a big part in whos' products are purchased by consumers. I think that the recent and apparently failed push by Compaq and Superdisk, show that the consumer still wants Zip.

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT ROCKYS!
