Cheeky -

Y2K proves to be no big payday for Peritus Software

'Tis true.

Y2K has largely been a great mystery for the hordes of vendors & consultants (many of them good) that have attempted to crack this market.

And that is one major reason why I firmly believe we're going to have major snafus. In the pecking of the software world, maintenance is the pits... it's hard to do & it's very low status work. Far sexier to be doing e-commerce or an SAP installation.

So suddenly these companies with decades of software are instant experts at maintenance? I don't buy it.

Time will tell.

FAA and power grid pass tests

>>>The results of the tests this weekend, though inconclusive because each isolated only one portion of the total system that could be affected by Y2K problems, do offer evidence that the systems are in good shape.<<<
