I think we should keep an eye on Microsoft. They're coming out with their format that is more difficult to be pirated. They'll probably shop this to the RIAA. Personally I think the cats out of the bag with mp3 and also it's quite possible that the rio will play the Microsoft format. Afterall, the Rio is pretty much just ram. I'm not sure though. Anyone know? Regardless any news of Microsoft entering an arena can ruin anyone's party. DIMD is ahead of the game in the mp3 dept. but the mp3 market is starting to get crowded. DIMD should have a great earnings report, but RIAA law suit looms and Microsoft is entering the music arena. If I was to opine here, I would say that RIAA will lose suit. Microsoft and the recording industry will chummy up with MSFT's difficult to pirate software. Having 95% of the operating systems they could make life difficult for competing mp3 software. But in the end mp3 will prevail. That's just my opinion. Very complicated. A lot of dust needs to settle.
