Several things IMHO made this stock rise. Five days ago it bounced off its 50 day moving average and was headed up. It is predicting explosive earnings next year and this article was VERY positive.

Market makers usually short the stock (sell stock that they do not own to you and me at $3.75 when the stock is running up). Then they buy it back (cover their position) when it settles down $3.25. This is all legal. They run the stock up to shake out sellers (many sold at $3.50). This is called making a market.

My advice is to take a position and hang on. The news article said a similar company sold for $600 million dollars. If Wi-LAN sold for $600 million dollars their stock would sell for $30!! And their company is light years better.

Happy investing,
