Boy, I have no idea what you did. "Working at the hunting club." Were you an employee, or a member? "I realized I hadn't signed in on the daily log." You had a license, why did you need to sign a log? "I unloaded my gun." I gather you committed a serious enough infraction that you were worried about the consequences, what were they? I think you were probably smart, if the warden had caught you, you could show him the gun and say, you realized you did wrong but you remedied it. That type of maturity is always welcome.
