(NYSE: HDI - news) today announced record sales and earnings for its first quarter ended March 28, 1999. The Company's first quarter sales were $558.6 million, an increase of 19.7 percent over the first quarter last year. All of this should position us for long-term sustainable growth.''BCST Broadcast.com Reports Record First Quarter Revenue Revenue Increased 127% From Same Period In 1998 DALLAS, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadcast.com (Nasdaq: BCST - news) today reported revenue totaling $10.3 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 1999, an increase of 127% over $4.5 million in the same period in 1998, and a 31% sequential increase over the fourth quarter of 1998. Net loss for the first quarter of 1999 was $3.4 million, or $0.09 per basic and diluted share, excluding a one-time charge of $462,000 associated with the acquisition of NetRoadshow. This compares with a net loss of $2.6 million, or $0.09 per share during the first quarter of 1998. Including the one-time charge, net loss for the first quarter of 1999 was $3.8 million, or $0.11 per basic and diluted share. All financial results include the recent acquisition of NetRoadshow, which was accounted for as a pooling of interests. As such, prior periods have been restated to include the results of NetRoadshow. Broadcast.com posted strong revenue growth, with revenue from Business Services increasing to $7.1 million for the first quarter of 1999, a 155% increase over the same period of 1998.
