Yes it is and the USSR type of threat is only the tip of the iceburg. I have talked to Turks, Arabs, East Asians, and others from all over the world. There is a renaisance of cultural development from what used to be considered under privaledged countries. Large families and lots of money thanks to the global economy. There is a growing resentment toward the USA for its sloppy gunslinger attitude toward the rest of the world. Now we have the bull clintoon image help disdain for the west become crystalized. The corrupt, lying, rapist is going to address moral imperatives for the rest of the world???? No way. No body outside of his party buys that. The US has a double standard that everybody sees and tolerates because there are gunboats aimed at them. When in history has the unprincipled bully been able to find long term success against an alliance of peoples defending there home and principles. Terrorism is only one recourse to the rest of the world. The US and European Allies have always kept them at bay with a divide and conquer approach. They are starting to get hip to this stuff. It wouldn't take much of an alliance from any region of the world to pose a real threat. Saddam Hussein has many enemies, So does Moamar Khaddafi of Libia for similar reasons but the middle eastern nations are so sickened by the on going deaths by the thousands per month of innocent villagers in Iraq that the middle eastern countries are beginning to speak with one voice to condemn the US practices.
