Looks like RIG will not play --

Bridge News ay 12:45 EDT
Transocean CEO J. Michael Talbert told Bridge today that the company would not realize any cost-saving benefits
by merging with another offshore oil and gas drilling concern. Talbert, in an interview during an energy conference
here, also said Transocean does not plan to renegotiate any rig day rates with oil and gas companies, but it would
be open to discussions that could benefit both parties.

from the street.com article mentioning DO.

This may be a couple of days old.....

Depressed oil prices have offshore drillers in a deep funk.
But Diamond Offshore (DO:NYSE), with oodles of cash,
sees opportunity.

The Houston-based company is seeking acquisitions. Not
that James Tisch, chairman and chief executive, is
considering buying just for the sake of consolidation, a point
he stresses. Tisch, after all, is known as a deep value
player.

DO might.

Talked ith IR at DO today. Press release on Friday for earnings and is scheduled to speak at the energy conference on wednesday at 10:30am
