Intel doesn't have to, AMD need to. The only source of funding is
from bond/debenture/stock which ties to the stock price. If they
don't show the card, they are going to pay expensively for the
funding.

I suspect this is the reason that explain why AMD screwed
up for the past 2 quarters. The top management may have pressed the
engineers for an answer they don't want to give.
