I think part of the problem came from Novellus which reported earnings today before the market opened...

Even though Novellus met earnings expectations, it said that it is "cautiously optimistic" going forward. So, it was promptly taken to the backyard and shot!

17% sales in computer sector projected for year 2000 in LSI annual report. They showed 50% for 1995 but of course left us to guess about 1999. What is 50 day support here?
