Your criticism applies only to baskets that include beat-up value stocks. Use a broad growth basket, and you don't have to adjust at all. And beware the bottom-up gnome: analysts tend to follow companies they like, so bottom-up estimates are invariably optimistic -- tending to make forward-looking P/E's too low. -mb

chuzz...re e-machines / low end

e-machines has made a statement that they can't meet, demand, selling everything they can bring into the country.....sounds like a step up in production may cause a greater opportunity to "slip" should they misjudge future demand, product mix...as others before them who play into the fickle fate of the inventory game....even less room to err sub 500....
