Bloomberg News
April 8, 1999, 11:37 a.m. PT
Singapore, April 8 (Bloomberg) -- Pacific Internet Ltd. is
one of five stocks favored by Alex Cheung, manager of the
Monument Internet Fund, which owns shares in the companies he
recommended, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Cheung said investors
shouldn't use traditional price valuations when examining
volatile Internet stocks and instead should focus on a company's
potential market size and its ability to keep customers. His
other stock picks are America Online Inc., Broadvision Inc., CMGI
Inc. and DoubleClick Inc., Dow Jones said.
Shares in Pacific Internet, Asia's first Internet-related
company to trade in the U.S., rose 11 to 62 in early afternoon
trading after hitting a high of 71 earlier.
