Silicon Graphics workstations incorporate MacDrive 98 for cross-platform file
sharing

marked a new era in desktop publishing with its endorsement of Silicon Graphics
(NYSE: SGI) new family of visual workstations. The introduction of these products
signals Silicon Graphics' entry into the Windows NT® market with offerings that
combine industry standard processor technology from Intel , and the broad-based
application support of Microsoft® Windows NT operating system with Silicon

and Silicon Graphics 320, dual-processor Pentium® II based system offering the

Silicon Graphics' visual workstations provide the markets' best price/performance
for applications using standard APIs, and they are compatible with Windows
NT-certified off-the-shelf applications.

With a starting street price of $3,395, Silicon Graphics 320 workstation will
begin shipping in February 1999. Silicon Graphics 540 workstation, priced
starting at $5,995, will begin shipping in the spring of 1999.
