Intel's guidance has left a range of expectations within which it can be said they "met expectations". There is little doubt they will be at least within this range or they would have preannounced. IMHO that range is in the .53 to .56 As always, unfortunately, expectations are for a better number. This is partly due to the fact that Intel's guidance has always been conservative and partly due to current market conditions, where everyone is looking for SOMEONE to surprise on the upside.
Yesterday's drop was all Compaq IMO.
