I think I understand your point. There are some people who I mistrust so much I don't even read what they write. There are other people I trust so much that even when they are being stupid, mean, or fugg-headed, it doesn't bother me, because we are all stupid, mean or fugg-headed sometimes.

The process you describe is part of judging. You probably would make a good judge.

I have a tendency to avoid judging as long as I can, which makes me terribly indecisive.
