What are the latest first quarter loss estimates ? I would think with the up front costs of the auction site and drugstore.com that the first quarter losses should be sizeable even by AMZN's standards. Will anyone on Wall Street be looking at the bottom line or will the focus remain fixed on top line growth. ps I ordered a $ 1 product from drugstore.com paid $ 1 for shipping and will receive a first aid
kit valued at $ 25. Drugstore.com can claim another new account and simultaneously record a $ 10 or $ 15 loss on the transaction including shipping costs. Sounds
like another winning transaction. Customer gets a good deal, internet
merchant loses money (but, opens another account) and stock price goes higher. Who said that internet commerce is lacking in creativity ?
