Winfield Capital Shares Gain 33% on Internet Optimism (Update1)

Winfield Capital Shares Gain 33% on Internet Optimism (Update1) (Updates with closing share
price.)

White Plains, New York, April 12 (Bloomberg) -- Winfield Capital Corp. shares rose 33 percent,
after the investment company said Friday it bought about $516,000 of common stock in Modacad
Inc., a maker of 3-D software that recently began a new apparel e-commerce site.

White Plains, New York-based Winfield rose 14 3/4 to 59. Officials of the company, which went
public in October 1995, would not comment on the stock's rise. More than 4.5 million shares
changed hands, more than six times the three-month daily average.

Last month, Daniel Miller, a 15-year-old Teaneck, New Jersey resident who has drawn wide
publicity for his Internet page that offers investment advice, told his readers to purchase shares of
Winfield.

Winfield has risen from 6 5/16 at the beginning of the year, gaining more than 818 percent and is
up from 1 3/16 or 4,742 percent in the last 12 months.
NYSE/AMEX delayed 20 min. NASDAQ delayed 15 min.

Jon, TheStreet.com also got it wrong about WCAP's purchase of MODA stock. The Tech Update published at 1:42 pm repeated the same Bloomberg error.

"Also on the rise is Winfield Capital
(WCAP:Nasdaq). The company last week bought
$11 million in stock in ModaCAD, a maker of 3-D
software that has a new apparel Web site. The
stock was up 16, or 36%, at 60 1/4. "

I just e-mailed TSC about the error. The correct figure is 47,000 shares at $10.98/share.

Regards,

Tom
