Annual meeting today was very good. Eric and Dennis answered all questions. Things were very calm compared to the last meeting in San Jose two years ago! Shareholder proposal #3 passed! Board must address eliminating the poison pill or modifying it. Eric said "Novell is not for sale." He is doing what he came to Novell to do and very happy at Novell (in response to questions about HP rumors). DigitalMe deals are coming in a big way over the next 6 to 9 months. These will be no revenue deals to drive demand for directory products and increase consumer recognition of Novell brand. DigitalMe website registration will be a Novell service offered soon for individuals. Eric sounds a lot like Fred Smart when he gets going about open systems, relationships, etc. I have spoken to Fred on the phone and I know he and Eric are not the same person, but they think quite a bit alike! That's good! I hope Fred and Eric talk soon or have already. They have purchased 26 million shares and have authorized 35 million. They expect to purchase all of the balance this year. Thats what seemed important to me.
