xcr, the credit of discovering LPGLY rightly belongs to you. Found more info on the company -- it even pays dividends:
Posted on the Yahoo boards....

London Pacific Group Ltd. (LPGLY)

Net asset value at the end of the period was $377.4 million
($5.86 per share or $23.44 per ADR)

The stock trades as a ADR on the NASDAQ.
Book Value was $23.44 vs todays price of 13 5/8.
PE = 8
dividend = .93 or 6.46%
earnings the last two years were $1.85 and $1.67
total market cap of only $232.7 million

They own 1,377,467 shares of NetGravity(NETG) worth aprox $60 million.

They own 2,605,864 shares of Net Perceptions. (15.1%)
Net Perceptions has filed to go public.
If Net Perceptions only trades @ $30, it would be worth $78 million.

I read a msg on the SI board that says they may have investments
in 15 private companies totaling $100 million at their cost.

I have found two more so far.

They have invested in both the second & third round venture funding of ConvergeNet Technologies. Total amount of venture
funding has been $30 million. I don't know how much LPGLY has
put in. These investments were made in Sept 98 & Feb 99.

They also invested $6 million in XLNT. They were part of a
third round venture funding of XLNT back in March 98.

Both of these investments look like they could be future IPO's.

The value of their private venture capital investments could far
exceed their market cap. Plus they have a real business that earned $1.85 per share last year!
