Why is gold valuable? I don't really know, anything that men dig up from deep in the earth only to bury in a vault deep in the earth has got to have some peculiar characteristics. For that matter why is paper with bad pictures of dead US presidents all the rage?? Guess it is "faith", how about it? I do know that if I can buy a blue chip gold like Newmont in August for $14 and change and sell it in late September for $28 and change that is a quick double. And if I can buy it for 16 1/2 in December and sell it for 20 in early January it ain't too shoddy. Then 17 to 19 1/2 in March. Now watch, been in at 16's and 17, here I go again. Guess I am just stupid, but it works better for me than my general market calls on MDA! Gold, BAH, worthless stuff!!
