".....I am amazed at how many people I talk to that have never even
heard of this stock....."

I have been very frustrated with the main stream media
(Bloomberg, etc.) when come to financial news coverage.
They see all the internet stocks as non-main stream and
pay little attention to these stocks.

Each time I saw all the exciting activities going on
in the internet markets and when I turn on the TV,
I see all the major financial media still taking about:
"coca-cola up 2 1/4"...I am very piss with them...

The editors/producers of these medias should all be fired
and be replaced by younger people...

How long will it take for them to WAKE UP...

For me the driving force is the management that has been put into place, both at the top and within the investments. Hop over to their corporate site and take a look at the experience of management. Combine this with the fact that they get to cherry pick the companies they invest in, throw in a huge amount of investment capital for good measure, and mix vigorously.......place the whole "mix" in a red hot market and watch it cook.

Seriously, I've spent many years consulting to large and small firms worldwide. Personally, I believe the most important ingredient for success is the quality of management. Their mix of companies will change over time, but as long as they continue to "staff" their investments as well as they have, I think we're in for a great long-term ride.....

As I wrote earlier, the only thing that scares me is how quickly its been rising. Compared to the other hot internet stocks however, I think this is one of the few that can actually grow into its expectations.

Another "benefit" is the size of the investment these guys will have in Yahoo once the Geocities deal is completed (someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they will be something like the 3rd largest shareholder?) So now we have a company with strong ties to Yahoo, Intel and Microsoft (the latter two through their investments in CMGI's funds).

I sleep a lot better at night with this model than wondering if Amazon is ever going to create a business model that can turn a profit....
