cody, I have no idea how this will end. For sure, NATO has lost round 1. The only way to "win" at this point is with a ground invasion, yet it seems nobody wants to do it. I doubt that Milosevic will crumble from a minor bombing campaign. Look at how the Germans bombed most of London into rubble during 1941. It only made the Brits fight harder. The Russians took a beating at Stalingrad only to turn the situation into a route of the German 8th army. The Gulf War has only convinced the "ignoratti" that we can fight bloodless wars with cruise missles and win. Of course, everyone seems to fail to notice that smart weapons failed to bring Saddam Hussain to his knees. No doubt, the old boy is plotting right now how to get some payback on the US. -John

Wellstone - Senate D from MN. was on the local public radio station today. He was asked 3 times if he thought we would bring back the draft. Two times he didn't answer the question, talked about the Albanian's plight instead. The third time he managed to say that he hadn't thought it through yet. He allowed as how he felt bad that the armed forces was mostly manned by "poor and working class people" From this I suspect that a draft is imminent. Will be interesting to see if women will be included ( don't see how they can't be - we're all exactly the same aren't we ). And it will be fascinating to see if we see Americans so accepting of the idea of women in the military when the Sheriffs start showing up, grabbing their daughters and stuffing them into army boots. I say, no draft unless the territory of the US is directly threatened. And then at that, if enough Americans weren't willing to defend it, maybe it's not worth the bother.
