I wanted to make sure you understood the options.

Your consistant practice of asking me to re-examine and focus in on various steps I have taken is highly admirable and greatly appreciated. Please excuse another compliment but here it comes.. you've got the soul of a great teacher. I had one really great teacher during my entire formal education. He was from India and had a very different set of expectations from his students. His ways proved very effective for me and I was fortunate to be able to spend much of my college time under his mentorship both in classes and assisting in his own doctorial work. You remind me of him in many ways. Very few people have this quality. I sure as hell don't.

I guess my options,in order to have automated scheduling, are to install BE on all drives or switch all operations to one drive and install be there.

It seems like you are unnecessarily integrating a machine that has independent elements. IMO the level of complexity exceeds the benefit.

I'll have to think about the complexity vs benefit part. I'm sold on the independent drive thing and you did the initial sales shpeal (sp?)<g>. Its like having two and a half (sharing KOT between primary NT and ScsiTa) computers in one. If I screw up the primary NT which has evolved into a catch-all drive I still have the simpler scsiTa to trade with the next day. Sure, scsiTa can malfunction too but by not screwing with it as much I feel my chances are greatly increased it won't.
I don't see integration on the backup level as defeating my perseved benefits of independent drives, especially if BE is installed on each drive, and the backup destination is also independent. It is more complex than the other option of one config and the chances of me having missed some understanding or other is constantly siting on my shoulder. I have no where near Seans or your experience and if the day comes where I have say.. well, they warned me.. then I'll make adjustments and would have learned another lesson. I think this is how things work best for me.

What is the benefit of the SCSI TA boot?
Hopefully answered above

Wouldn't it make more sense to run the TA app from the primary NT boot? Then you would not be booting between OSes on a regular basis. You would run all of your standard apps from one boot and there would be no need for the second boot.

My objective is not to have to reboot to do a backup. My understanding at this time is with BE installed on every drive with the same config and registry entries, this might be possible. As Sean has indicated its time to experiment.

If you have Drive Images before you start and a working KOT you can recover

I'm armed and ready<g>
