Everything should be discussed. Even things that are abhorrent- imo (like Emile's beliefs) profit from discussion. I don't think silence is ever a good answer, because then there is no useful social benchmarking. As for religion, well of course we go round and round and no one (I think) changes their minds but it is an intellectual exercise, and perhaps a spiritual one as well, as we try to define what we believe (the unexamined life, and all that). I hope your husband will continue to post, like tired vampires we need constant new blood on this thread or it can get boring.
