How do you call yourself a Libertarian? I thought Libertarians were open minded to viewing the facts, then making the best choice. <I dont know what world you live in, but it certainly isnt Terra Firma.> The link I posted is from: The following is excerpted from a report printed by the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 1974 : The activities of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler prior to and during World War II...are instructive. At that time, these three firms dominated motor vehicle production in both the United States and Germany. Due to its mass production capabilities, automobile manufacturing is one of the most crucial industries with respect to national defense. As a result, these firms retained the economic and political power to affect the shape of governmental relations both within and between these nations in a manner which maximized corporate global profits. In short, they were private governments unaccountable to the citizens of any country yet possessing tremendous influence over the course of war and peace in the world. The substantial contribution of these firms to the American war effort in terms of tanks, aircraft components, and other military equipment is widely acknowledged. Less well known are the simultaneous contributions of their foreign subsidiaries to the Axis Powers. In sum, they maximized profits by supplying both sides with the materiel needed to conduct the war. Do you find the US Senate otherworldly? I agree that sometimes it can look that way, but this is from extensive investigayions dating back to the 1930s. <Please, dont give me the crap about Waco when I live in freakin Texas. You're case isnt made by bringing up religious Waco-s who believed that health and human services agents checking on the welfare of children were agents of Satan and signs that the end was near and they should prepare for their prophesied martyrdom. If they were so damned righteous and innocent they could have filed a suit against the State of Texas.in America everyone is equal under the law and has equal access to opportunity unfettered by government restrictions based upon race, ethnicity, sex, or religion. And registering their weapons wouldnt have hurt either. Same goes with the Ruby Ridge nuts. They could have contested Eminent Domain (sp?) in court and a million and one Constitutional lawyers would have jumped at the opportunity to represent them. Instead, they chose to shoot at police officers. No brainer what the consequences of THAT is, no matter what country you live in.Really? Randy Weaver did sue the FBI and won. What does that tell you about the case that the FBI had against him? It was bogus from Day 1 The fellow in the hills above LA was a millionaire who happened to own several hundred acres that James Watt had his eye on. He was gunned down in his living room when the Fed swat team broke in at 6 am...supposedly looking for pot! The "evidence" that the Feds used to get the search and destroy warrant? His wife was seen by agents down on Rodeo Drive spending $100 bills...a sure sign that the old man(he was north of 60) was a drug dealer. By the way, don't look now but your prejudice towards religious folks is showing.
