Nick, Re: I think they will make it, or they would have pre-announced/cajolled/hinted otherwise.

But they stated that quite clearly in last quarter's report.
My observation about Intel for the past 3 years or so is that
unless the result deviated from THEIR OWN prediction, they
would not warn. They seems to be pretty indifferent to the
so call first calls.

Nick,
Pay attention, son! <g> INTC was very, very clear at end of last Q that they would experience a seasonal downturn in revenues this Q, just as they have for most years.

That rational, clear warning is what depressed the stock after earnings.

What is important is to compare this quarter to same quarter a year ago.

Remember, Christmas comes but once a year.
