Mr. Stan Bharti reports
Rux has entered into an agreement with Business Web Inc., a Dallas, Tex., based
Internet service provider, to acquire up to 8.3 per cent of its outstanding shares
for a total of $2.5-million (U.S.), representing 750,000 shares at $3.40 (U.S.) per
share.
Business Web Inc., with its two counterparts, Cybermovers
(http://www.cybermovers.net) and Business Web Now
(http://www.businesswebnow.com), translate the roles of a real-world moving and
design company to the World Wide Web. The company handles the concept,
creation, execution, promotion and maintenance of business Web sites. In
addition, the company is focusing its attention onto the business to business
vertical trade communities, including fully scalable e-commerce solutions, on-line
business interaction and downloadable production information. A key area of
expertise for BWI is the creation of trade shows in cyberspace to enhance
business to business communication in a variety of sectors.
Rux has also entered into a licensing arrangement with BWI to develop and
market a BWI proprietary software for the resource sector worldwide. The
proprietary software will allow Rux to sponsor and co-ordinate trade shows in
cyberspace for the mining, oil and gas and forestry industries.
Rux will also propose a name change to Rux Business.com at its annual
shareholder meeting, to be held later this year. The company plans to change its
main focus to the interaction of the resource sector with the Internet and IT
(information technology) sector and develop a new management team with the
assistance of its partner, BWI. Rux continues to examine other opportunities in the
Internet and IT sector, both in North America and overseas. Chris Meaux, the
president and chief executive officer of Business Web Inc., has joined the board
of Rux, effective immediately.
The BWI transaction is expected to close on or before the end of April
