well, it's taken out one analyst's expectation of $30. hope it holds.

it would be good to see some supported consolidation instead of it's usual wandering around the map.

May be ORCTF's Cash Flow will be highly influenced by DT's purchase of ADSL-equipment. 1) directly - because DT has to pay the bill in 1999/2000 and 2) indirectly - since DT's competitors will have to close up to DT and enforce their own DSL-plans.

Are there any detailed figures about the DT-deal available?

Peter

[dt]

hi super g.

(another) nice day today in orctf land... :)..:)..:)..:)..

and nice to hear some news from europe...

really liked the bosch/orckit/dt news from last month... thought the combined hdsl/sdh product sounded state-of-the art... would think there could be a market for such a system beyond dt.. also interesting that dt "commissioned" the work and required almost a year of secrecy...

was looking thru the dt site last week and noticed that they have started billing what looks like this product- sdsl/ hdsl as "the next generation" xdsl beyond adsl:

"Deutsche Telekom builds networks of the future

... ADSL will be followed by HDSL

Even as it is now introduces ADSL, Deutsche Telekom is already working on the next generation of xDSL technologies. Symmetrical 2 megabit/s services based on HDSL (high bit-rate digital subscriber line) will even become available this year. Deutsche Telekom thus continues to consistently develop broadband communications technologies, clearly positioning itself on the telecommunications market as a leader in innovation..."

am starting to wonder if orctf/fujitsu? might have a shot at the reportedly pending sbc hdsl contract... am not holding my breath, but one of these days expect orctf/? will land something over here on the hdsl front... the gte investor meeting tomorrow could be interesting too..
---

in the last cc tamir made it clear that hdsl would not roll out to dt til later this year... also adsl wasn't shipping to dt as of q4 98 and product with the new silicon would be q3-q4 99... testing q2-q3... if dt has big adsl plans for next year orctf looks to be positioned rather nicely...

bye
