We'll take customer growth over a quarter or two of earnings any day. These customers will have money in NetBank for years.

I suppose you could stop your marketing campaign and send a few customer service employees home. That would pump up earnings. But then where would we be?

You mentioned something about "Whisper Report." Do you have a website URL for something like that? I had a bookmark for "whispernumber.com" but it doesn't seem to be working right now. I wonder what happened.
