I think the MP3 player is just step one in Creative's internet roll out. OK the name could have been a little more "with it" but NOMAD is quite meaningful for a highly portable music machine. It looks like quite a hardy internet appliance actually, the sort you'd go hiking with. The website is pretty cool, and the list of companies offering services and technologies is quite impressive.

The buzz will come from further developments in this area. Creative clearly is able to do internet stuff, I don't think it is very far away from creating some excitement about it. Look, there are lots os startups out there with great ideas, and a partner like Creative would be ideal what with a heavily visited website, lotsa $$ they dunno what to do with it, and a need for buzz ... think about it. There are probably dozens of people knocking on Sim's door everyday about new internet ideas, he's probably waiting for one with a great plan for an acceptable price.
