datek quotes are hosed - bid, ask, change, volume --- who knows wtf is valid anymore ? as far as i can tell they're all FUBAR as comapred to my independent quote provider

Juergen, I hope you enjoyed the thread...at least for today then. If I understand you right there is a better alternative to Datek..my be you can enlight us and tell us a bit more about your choice. I'm monitoring all relevant broker threads here on SI almost every day and I have my doubts that there IS an alternative to DATEK. There are a lot of firms talking about 'quality executions', 'fastest acess', 'SuperXchanges's' and stuff like this. BUT, I can't really see any brokerage (whether automatic or direct order execution) which offers a guaranteed constant fast and reliable order execution. It seems that some sort of 'quality' measurement is necessary in the online brokerage industry ...especially these days where a lot of people are talking about quality (ISO 9000, Capability Maturity Model Level, etc).
