The caterpillars have been rotting, but they've also had a floor under them now for some time (see T/FIF, dry powder, margin pain). The options on butterflies?..... I've been trading them upon exit from chrysalis, rather than upon full-blown flight (missing your "kink"), and it's working marvelously. There are, currently, marvelous ops in distant-expiration calls.
